Burleigh Manor Music Parents
More than 75% of the students at BMMS participate in the music program.

Burleigh Manor Music Parents was founded in 1999 to support the active and successful music program at BMMS. All parents of band, orchestra, and choral students are automatically members. In addition to fundraising to supplement limited county funds, the group provides volunteer assistance to the music program throughout the year, as well as advocates in the community for the continuing development of strong music programs at BMMS and throughout HCPSS.
Music Parent volunteers provide chaperones, set-up for concerts, and help with program preparation for concerts, field trips and adjudications, as well as assist with awards and awards parties and arrange for publicity in the local papers. We hold a Music Orientation Night each September to introduce incoming 6th grade parents to our group, to give an overview of the music programs at school, and to discuss our plans for the upcoming year. More than 75% of the students at BMMS participate in band, orchestra, or chorus, a remarkable accomplishment for the four teachers involved. Music support groups such as ours are common at the High School level, but ours is one of few at a Middle School. Our assistance can contribute immensely to the success of these programs, and we ask that you consider helping out when and where you can. Please contact BMMP with questions or concerns, to volunteer to help, or to make a donation to the Note Club. |
